Caihailian Vineyard

Caihailian Vineyard presents a boutique winery experience centered on carefully crafted wines and an entertaining, vineyard-first experience. The focus is on quality--not quantity. Named for the owners' three fantastic children, visits to Caihailian typically begin with a tour of the vineyard and a demonstration of the seasonal vine care/pruning activity. Owner and winemaker Bob Ramsey will explain several of the many scientifically fascinating aspects of WINE GROWING. After you gain a proper appreciation of the magnitude of that work, your tour follows into the winery where Bob will continue with education about WINE MAKING. Assuming success with all the above, we proceed with the third part of the enterprise through a guided tasting of six or more wines: WINE APPRECIATION. Each of our wines has its place (before, during, or after dinner), most have won medals in prestigious competitions, and all are good values. And, depending on your enthusiasm for the grape and its potential, you can sign up to participate in the harvest, or bottle a vintage, or return for a campfire if you're local.
